Anita Lawton, Rehabilitation Services, concentrates on providing care for the entire patient, not just the injury she is treating.

“One of my favorite things about Anita is her drive to always do what’s best for her patients,” said a colleague who nominated her for the July Colleague of the Month award at Passavant Area Hospital. “She looks at the whole picture. Plus, she’s a fantastic physical therapy assistant (PTA). Her knowledge is top of the line and her skills are excellent.”

As a PTA, Lawton treats patients through exercise, manual techniques, gait and balance training and other therapeutic interventions. “I love helping patients get back to their daily activities without pain,” said Lawton. “I’m always looking to improve my skills through continuing education courses.”

Lawton earned an associate degree in science from Lincoln Land Community College and is a licensed PTA.

Lawton and her husband, Ryan, reside in Palmyra. They are the parents of a son, Logan. In her free time, Lawton enjoys gardening, scrapbooking and spending time with her family.

The Colleague of the Month at Passavant receives eight hours off with pay, a special plaque and pin, a close parking space for one month in the physicians’ parking garage and a decorated cake.
