October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in addition to the year-round mammogram service Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation provides to uninsured and under insured women through its CUPS fund, qualifying women can also get free mammograms on Mondays this month at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
The event, called Mammogram Mondays, offers mammogram screenings each Monday in October to women who are over the age of 40, uninsured or underinsured. To schedule an appointment, eligible women should call 217-707-5340.
The Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation CUPS fund was established to support breast health in Christian County and the surrounding counties. Since 2011, the fund has provided nearly $62,000 to screen more than 300 women.
After Mammogram Mondays conclude in October, mammograms provided through the CUPS fund are available year-round to qualifying women.
