Mann Named Passavant Colleague of the Month for March

5/3/2021

Physical therapist Alaina Mann is the Passavant Area Hospital Colleague of the Month for March.

A patient’s parent nominated Mann and wrote, “My daughter was referred to Alaina for physical therapy after an ankle injury – to say it’s been an amazing experience is an understatement. Thanks to Alaina’s expertise and putting my daughter’s safety first, an MRI (that Alaina recommended before continuing with physical therapy) showed a probable hairline fracture that would have created more problems if we had continued physical therapy not knowing about it.”

The connection she makes with her patients is the most rewarding part of the job for Mann. “Since I treat the pediatric population, I have been able to keep in contact with their parents and watch my patients grow and participate in new sports and activities even years after discharging from physical therapy,” Mann said.

“My daughter lights up every time we talk about Alaina and whenever we go to a (physical therapy) appointment,” Mann’s nominator wrote. “Alaina has impacted my daughter’s life more than she will ever know.”

Mann’s professional goals include expanding her skill and knowledge in pediatric care, eventually becoming a pediatric certified specialist. She also has an interest in vestibular system dysfunction, especially regarding how to eliminate vertigo and improve balance.

Mann lives in Jacksonville and enjoys shopping locally, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and caring for her elderly rescue dog.
