SPRINGFIELD – Katie Zinn, a licensed psychiatric counselor, is Memorial Medical Center’s Colleague of the Month for July.

Zinn “is an incredible advocate for both patients and colleagues” on Memorial Medical Center’s inpatient psychiatric care unit, said Zinn’s nominator. “She comforts and supports our patients like they are family.”

Zinn has continued her education, learning new skills in trauma-informed care and safety of patients on a psychiatric unit.

“I feel honored to help people through their darkest days,” said Zinn, whose professional goals include passing her licensed clinical professional counselor exam.

Zinn, of Sherman, joined Memorial Medical Center in 2020.
