JACKSONVILLE – Daniel Metz of White Hall, a security officer at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital (JMH), is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for August.

Metz is always eager to help co-workers, patients and visitors and has been known to deliver candy to clinical units, hospital officials said. “Daniel maintains a positive and calm demeanor, even in a stressful situation, and knows the hospital layout better than anyone,” said Jim McGownd, supervisor of security at JMH.

Metz has worked at the hospital since 2015. Outside of work, Metz enjoys do-it-yourself home improvement projects.
