SPRINGFIELD – Molly Gogerty of Sherman, an infection prevention and control nurse at Springfield Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for November.

Gogerty has worked at Springfield Memorial Hospital since 2006.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Gogerty returned to bedside nursing, often working nights so she could focus on her infection prevention and control responsibilities during “normal [business] hours,” said one of her colleagues, who nominated her for recognition. “She is a leader in our department and on the floor.”

As a registered nurse in the infection prevention department, Gogerty works with other Memorial Health hospital locations, as well as with community partners, such as local and state public health departments, to coordinate efforts to keep health care workers and patients safe.

Outside of work, Gogerty enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, Mike, of 14 years, and their two daughters. She also enjoys shopping for antiques with her mother and sisters.
