Memorial Medical Center’s free app that lets consumers know the wait times at all three of the nonprofit hospital’s ExpressCare locations is now available for Android smartphones.

Memorial first launched its wait-time app in September 2012 for iPhones and has been downloaded nearly 2,300 times since April. Android users can download the app through the Play Store and search for Memorial ExpressCare WaitTimes.

“Because our app was so well received by iPhone users, we wanted to take the next step and make it available to the growing demand of Android cellphone users,” said Travis Dowell, vice president of Memorial Health System.

The app tells consumers how many people are waiting to be seen and the length of the longest wait at each location.

“Our patients can use the wait-time information to help them choose the ExpressCare location that will be able to take care of their non-emergency medical needs quickly,” Dowell said.

Other app features include directions to the nearest ExpressCare facility, estimated driving distance and times from your location to your chosen clinic, one-touch direct-dial phone calls to ExpressCare, hours of operation for each site and for lab and imaging services, and advice on where to go for different situations, whether it’s an emergency department, urgent care office or your primary-care physician.

The three ExpressCare locations are at 2950 S. Sixth St., 3220 Atlanta St. and 3132 Old Jacksonville Road.

All three ExpressCare locations have on-site physicians, lab services and medical imaging services.
