Owen, Isaac Top List of Boys’ Names in ’21; Peyton, Millie Lead Girls

Owen and Isaac tied for the top boy’s name in 2021 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital, while Peyton and Millie were tied for the top girl’s name.

Four baby boys each received the name Owen or Isaac, although some parents selected variant spellings, such as Isac and Issac. Three baby girls each were named Millie or Peyton, although one baby had the variant spelling of Payton.

“While last year continued to present a very unique challenge as COVID-19 restrictions prevented grandparents, siblings and friends from visiting, our new parents had more time to themselves to bond with their new babies,” said Simone Parlier, a registered nurse and nurse manager of obstetrics at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. “We look forward to when we can safely lift our visitor restrictions.”

Runners-up for popular boys’ names in 2021 were Waylon, Harlan, Oliver and Xavier.

Runners-up for popular girls’ names were Arwen, Annette, Ava, Aubrey, Adalynn, Romina, Riley, Hazel, Miah, Tatum, Lilianna, Lillian and Freya.
