Lingling Liu, a community engagement and equity, diversity and inclusion coordinator, is the Memorial Health System Resources Colleague of the Month for February.

Liu, of Springfield, has been instrumental in initiating Memorial Health’s interpreter training courses to medical interpreters, said hospital officials. She has advocated for translation of forms, brochures and other informational paperwork into Mandarin throughout Memorial Health and serves as a valuable member of the interpreter team.

“I have personally learned so much from colleagues who represent the diversities that we highlight and celebrate. It is a wonderful feeling when a colleague tells me they feel seen and included, and they are so glad we have a strong equity, diversity and inclusion [program] at Memorial Health,” said Liu, who has worked at Memorial Health since 2016.

Outside of work, Liu enjoys spending time with her spouse, traveling “near and far for good food and good brews,” visiting art museums and botanical gardens, gardening and furniture upcycling.
