Springfield Memorial Hospital Nurse Honored with DAISY Award

3/16/2022

Zach Wisnasky received the DAISY Award for Nursing Excellence at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Known for his expertise and compassion, Wisnasky, of Mount Olive, was nominated by a patient to receive the award, hospital officials said.

A certified critical care registered nurse in the cardiac surgery intensive care unit at Springfield Memorial Hospital, Wisnasky has worked at the nonprofit hospital since 2016.

Outside of work, Wisnasky enjoys cooking, exercising and spending time with his wife and their six children.

The nonprofit DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died in 1999 from complications of an autoimmune disease. The care Barnes and his family received from nurses during his illness inspired them to create the DAISY Award.
