Critical Care Physician Joins Memorial Specialty Care

Akiode cares for patients in the nonprofit hospital’s intensive care units (ICU).

Akiode attended medical school at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Nigeria. She completed her residency in orthopedic and trauma surgery at the National Orthopedic Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria, in 1998. She also completed a residency in internal medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2012; and a fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at Texas A&M Health Sciences in Temple, Texas, in 2015.

Prior to her arrival in Decatur, Akiode served as a staff physician at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming, where she managed the care of patients in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
