Having served at Springfield Memorial Hospital for 44 years, Brown, of Sherman, is her department’s most senior member.

“She has never failed an inspection, as she is sure to double check her work,” said Cindy McFarland, Brown’s co-worker in the environmental services department, who nominated Brown for recognition. “She is also quick to learn new cleaning and infection prevention protocols – this has been especially important throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Outside of work, Brown enjoys building furniture with her husband, reading, listening to Christian music and quilting and sewing on her 115-year-old treadle sewing machine.
