The screenings will be offered from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday in October at Memorial Imaging in the Baylis Medical Building, 747 N. Rutledge St.

Appointments are required; no walk-ins are available. To schedule an appointment, call 217-788-4042 or visit memorial.health/imaging and choose 3D Mammography from the list of services.

Educational materials, including information on general breast health and how to perform breast self-exams, will be available.

The National Cancer Association recommends that all women age 40 or older have screening mammograms annually. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women in the United States.

Free mammograms will be offered at all five Memorial Health hospitals in Decatur, Jacksonville, Lincoln, Springfield and Taylorville throughout October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
