Memorial Receives Grant for Breast Cancer Assistance Fund

9/8/2015

Memorial Medical Center has received a $10,000 grant that will go to a fund to provide financial assistance to breast cancer patients.

The grant from the Susan G. Komen Memorial will allow eligible breast cancer patients receiving treatment at Memorial to request assistance with utility bills, mortgage payments, rent payments, college tuition or other bills. Patients must meet eligibility requirements.

“Many of our patients have to stop going to work or school due to their treatment schedule or the toxicity of their treatment,” said Drew Snyder, director of oncology services at Memorial Medical Center. “This financial assistance fund will give us another avenue to help these patients meet their financial obligations.”
