An Open House reception will be held on Sunday, November 1, from 2-4 pm to honor Wayne Manson, MD for his many years of dedicated service to the Taylorville community. 

The event, hosted by Taylorville Memorial Hospital, will be held in the Janice Hopper Auditorium at the hospital located at 201 E. Pleasant Street. Light refreshments will be provided.

Dr. Manson, a board-certified specialist in general surgery and internal medicine at Springfield Clinic Taylorville, retired on October 16 after more than 30 years of medical practice.

Over the years, Dr. Manson served in every leadership role possible on the Taylorville Memorial Hospital medical staff, including secretary/treasurer, vice-president and president, as well as Medical Director of Surgery.

In addition to being an active member of the Taylorville community, Dr. Manson served as lieutenant colonel in the National Guard and utilized his surgical skills in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm.

The reception is open to the public. Family, friends, staff and former patients of Dr. Manson are encouraged to attend and wish him well in retirement.
