Linda Kennedy is Passavant Employee of the Month

11/10/2017

Passavant Area Hospital’s Employee of the Month is Linda Kennedy, BSN, RN, IBCLC, Obstetrics. She is the lactation services facilitator and has been employed at Passavant 29 years.

A grateful mother nominated Linda for the honor. “Linda was absolutely amazing my entire five-day stay. She always went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. We had an incredibly hard time in the beginning of our breastfeeding journey, but we were always welcomed and encouraged by Linda to come in for help. She never seemed put out to take time out of her day to sit with us and coach us. I would come in crying and discouraged and she always made me feel better by the time I left. She gave me her personal cell number in case we needed anything. What really impressed me and touched my heart was, while she was on vacation, she had another OB nurse call me to check on me and my son. She went the extra mile caring for us. We are still in contact today. Her genuine passion, concern and outstanding service make her the perfect role model for employees.”

In addition to her Obstetrics staff duties, Linda promotes inpatient and outpatient lactation services, serves as breastfeeding task force chair and Baby-Friendly Hospital initiative co-chair and provides education for staff and public via skill days and classroom studies.

Linda and her husband, Troy, reside in Griggsville. They are the parents of four children, Drew, Morgan, Matthew and Laura.

The Employee of the Month at Passavant receives eight hours off with pay, an Employee of the Month plaque, a close parking space for one month, gift cards for the Cafeteria and Gift Shop, a movie gift card, pen and pencil set, picnic blanket, flashlight/tool kit, Mason jar cup, umbrella, small cooler, lunch sack, drawstring tote, water bottle, notepad, flashlight key ring, coffee mug, and cup.
