Contractor Safety Education

12/29/2017

Andy Hazelrigg, Manager of Environmental Safety, will be leading education next week surrounding specific Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. These types of regulations are what our external contractors have to be focused on when working in a hospital environment. Andy notes that the education itself is designed to "help acclimate contractors to the differences between the hospital environment (Operating Rooms, Intensive Care Units, etc.) and other areas that they may be more used to working in." O'Shea employees will be attending next week's education on Thursday, January 4th from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., as they are beginning work on Memorial Medical Center's 3C unit soon. According to Andy, there are several construction projects scheduled for 2018 and the Safety team plans to hold additional education sessions during January for the multiple contracting teams we utilize throughout the Health System.
