Ford and Boivin Honored as Guardian Angel Recipients

12/29/2017

Cindy Ford, RCP, LPN, a registered echo cardiac sonographer in Cardiopulmonary, and Leigh Anna Boivin, BSN, RN, IBCLC, Obstetrics, were recently honored with a Passavant Area Hospital Foundation Guardian Angel award in recognition of their outstanding patient care.

“I have been a patient of Passavant for many years,” wrote Yoland Sykes, one of Ford’s patients. “I am writing to express gratitude for the service I received from Cindy during a need for cardiac testing … Cindy made me comfortable with my procedure. She brought so much to the table – her compassion, caring and consideration. Even when discomfort is part of the process, Cindy makes the patient as comfortable as she can … The quality – it’s all you Cindy.”

Boivin provided a positive birthing experience for a fellow employee, Kate Pollitt, Environmental Services. “I had an awful labor and delivery,” said Pollitt. “Leigh Anna really tried her hardest to keep me comfortable and calm. She was extremely patient and understanding with me. If it wasn’t for her, I most likely would have delivered by C-section. She spent so much time working with me and never gave up once. I will always remember her because she made by birthing experience the best it could be. She is, by far, one of the best OB nurses.”

The Guardian Angel award is presented by the Passavant Area Hospital Foundation. A patient and/or a patient’s family may formally recognize the personal care received at Passavant with a financial gift to the Foundation in the Passavant employee’s name. The award recipient receives a framed certificate and Guardian Angel lapel pin. Nomination forms are available in the Foundation office, 479-5575.
