The Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary hosted its annual FORE! Golf Outing on Saturday, July 14 on the beautiful greens at Lakeshore Golf Course.  Ten teams participated in the 18 hole, 4 person scramble.

The event was off to an early start at 9 am.  Lunch was served after the event where winners were announced.  The Peoria Handicap winning team included Mike Wareham, Tim Sutton, Andy Gregory and Bill Gill.  In the low gross category, finishing first place was Gary Hart, Helen Kennedy, Rick Mazzotti and Dr. Ron Mizer; in second place was Jim Maple, Maureen Maple, Robert Oyler and Laura Oyler.

The Auxiliary hosted the popular “Nose to Toes” raffle which was won by Jane Simmons.  Auxiliary members covered a golf bag donated by Pepsi in gift cards and Peggy Chapman was the lucky winner.  For the first time, a Poker Run was also available for golfers.  Dr. Ron Mizer won the Poker Run and kindly donated the winnings back to the Auxiliary.

At the luncheon, the TMH Auxiliary was able to present a check to TMH President and CEO, Kim Bourne, in the amount of $20,000 to go towards the Auxiliary’s current pledge for the courtyard beautification and rehab garden project.

“We are so grateful for the golfers and sponsors who helped make the golf outing such a success,” said TMH Auxiliary president, Jane Davis.  “Their generosity goes a long way in helping our pledge to create new outdoor spaces for patients and visitors.”
