There is no shortage of free and healthy activities this Saturday, August 25. Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital’s Community Health Collaborative is providing a free community bike ride, free health screenings and a free class on the City’s new Fitness Court.
Cyclists of all ages and skills are invited to join the next community bike ride of the season. Guided by ALMH Hospitalist Program Director Hal Mohammed, MD, the ride will begin at 8am and be approximately 5 miles long throughout the City of Lincoln. Interested individuals should meet at The ALMH Market located at the Logan County Fairgrounds.
Also at The ALMH Market, free health screenings will be available funded by the ALMH Auxiliary. Interested individuals will receive a lipid profile and blood sugar screening at no cost. Free blood pressures and Body Mass Index screenings are also available. These health screenings are available every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the Market season.
At 9:30 am, trainers from the Lincoln Park District will be at City of Lincoln’s new fitness court. All fitness levels are welcome to attend the class to learn more about how to use the Fitness Court and incorporate it into an active lifestyle.
The ALMH Community Health Collaborative is funded by the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation. It works to fulfill its mission to improve the health of the people and communities we serve.
