The Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation has graciously accepted a $10,000 grant from the Bertrand Hopper Memorial Foundation in support of its newly developed Healthcare Careers Education Grant program. The Healthcare Careers Education Grant program will aid students who are interested in studying healthcare and will work at Taylorville Memorial Hospital upon degree completion.
“Education grants are intended to create a talent pipeline,” said TMH Foundation Education Committee chair Billy Williams. “We want to help students receive the education they need and encourage them to build their careers right here at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.”
Like many organizations in the Taylorville community, the Bertrand Hopper Memorial Foundation has consistently supported the hospital over the years. “It is because of their continued generosity that the TMH Foundation is able to support its mission to improve health,” said TMH Foundation executive director Raedena Ryan. “Through donations like these, we are able to help encourage young professionals to return to our service area and serve as the next generation of local healthcare providers.”
The TMH Foundation’s annual signature event raises funds for Healthcare Career Education Grants. This year, the Hopper Foundation was a platinum sponsor of the December 1 event, which raised nearly $30,000. Due to unexpected circumstances of the tornado that swept through Taylorville, the event was canceled. The food prepared was donated to the Emergency Operations Center at the Taylorville Fire Department to help support Taylorville Fire, Taylorville Police and surrounding mutual aid who worked through the night helping victims of the storm.
If you would like to support the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation, tax deductible contributions can be made payable to Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation and mailed to 201 East Pleasant Street, Taylorville, IL 62568 or online at taylorvillememorial.org/foundation.
