On Friday, February 15, the Logan County Department of Public Health, Lincoln Park District, and Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital welcomed over 250 Logan County fifth graders to a Wellness Expo event at the Lincoln Park District. As part of the event, they were asked to submit a photograph of their favorite physical activity.
The first place winner was Lucas Melton from New Holland Middletown Elementary School. Lucas won a free family pass the Lincoln Park District pool. Second place was awarded to Tyler Cross from Mt. Pulaski Elementary School. The prize for second place was an indoor pool party at Lincoln College. The third place winner was Eric Cooper also Mt. Pulaski Elementary School. Eric won a bowling party at Logan Lanes in Lincoln.
“The photo contest was a great opportunity to show off our fifth graders and how they move and stay active,” said Angela Stoltzenburg, ALMH Community Health Collaborative Director. “The contest is inspired by our CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) schools that are promoting healthy eating and active lifestyles.”
All entries can currently be viewed at the Lincoln Park District. Additionally, all the submissions will be featured in a commercial to be played at the Lincoln Grand 8 this summer.
