Portions of Westgate Avenue and Founders Lane will be closed temporarily for this Saturday’s Passavant-Gatorade 5K and 10K Race.

On Saturday, May 25, Westgate will be closed between Mound Road and West Walnut from the start of the race at 7:30 a.m. to the conclusion at approximately 9:30 a.m. Traffic will be allowed to cross Westgate; however, the crossing will be controlled by race staff to ensure the safety of the runners. Founders Lane, located on the east side of the Passavant campus, will be closed from 5:00 to 10:00 a.m.

Motorists should use caution on the city’s west side during the race which starts and finishes on Founders Lane. West Walnut will be open during the race; however, motorists should be especially careful as the runners will be using a lane, marked by cones, on the north side of the street.

The Jacksonville Police Department and members of the Citizen's Police Academy will monitor traffic at key intersections along the courses.
