Memorial Home Hospice will offer a free six-week grief support group starting in September in Jacksonville.

The course will be a closed group limited to 12 to 15 participants. It will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 30, at Passavant Area Hospital, 1600 W. Walnut St. The course will end on Nov. 4.

A bereavement coordinator with Memorial Home Hospice will lead the class. Attendees will follow a curriculum titled "Taking Steps in Loss and Life," a task-centered grief model that focuses on the process of renewal. The content is appropriate for 12-year-olds and older.
