The Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary held its annual governance meeting on Nov. 13 in the Janice Hopper Auditorium at the nonprofit hospital.

A canned food drive was held in support of the local food pantry.  The gift baskets and quilt for the Holiday Extravaganza raffle were on display for those who were in attendance to purchase tickets. The meal was provided by Angelo’s Catering.

Phyllis Jachino, manager of laboratory services at TMH, gave a presentation on the new laboratory equipment upgrades and the impact of the Advancing Care by Design construction project for her department.  The upgrades are being funded through the Auxiliary’s current pledge.

Kim Bourne, president and CEO of TMH, gave a presentation on the latest progress of the Advancing Care by Design building project. Attendees learned about the history of TMH and information was given about why it is important to construct a new building in order to meet the needs of our community. Photos showcasing the thoughtful design of the nearly complete building were shown to those in attendance.

After the meal, Auxiliary president Jane Davis presented a $10,000 check to TMH president and CEO Kim Bourne in support of the Auxiliary’s current pledge to the TMH Foundation’s medical technologies fund to purchase laboratory equipment upgrades.

A new Auxiliary Board was approved for 2020-21: Janet Vaughan, president; Barbara Payne, first vice president; Rhonda Trost, second vice president; Cheryl Sexton, recording secretary; Ashley Basso, treasurer; and Donna Castelli, corresponding secretary.

Established in the 1950’s the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary promotes the mission of TMH to improve the health of the people and communities it serves through service to its patients, the community and to sponsor healthcare related projects through fundraising efforts.
