Patrick Armold was the first newborn of the new year at Passavant Area Hospital. Patrick was born at 3:21 p.m. on Jan. 1.

He weighs 7 pounds, 11 ounces and is 19 inches long. Patrick is the son of Taylor and Jake Armold of Greenfield. He has an older sister, Isabelle, age 3.  

The Family Maternity Suites at Passavant welcomed 383 newborns in 2019, seven more than 2018. The number of newborn boys edged out the number of newborn girls 194 to 189.

Passavant provided the Armold family with a package of special gifts to celebrate the first Passavant newborn of 2020.

What were the most popular baby names at Passavant in 2019? It was Lincoln for boys and Arianna for girls. Nationally, Sophia, Olivia and Emma topped lists as the most popular girl names for 2019. Top boy names for 2019 were Liam, Jackson and Noah.
