Volunteers Needed to Distribute Doorbell Dinners

Because of COVID-19, the Prairie Council on Aging is looking for volunteer delivery drivers to distribute Doorbell Dinners to shut-ins in the Jacksonville community. Doorbell Dinners are medically-prescribed meals provided by the Prairie Council on Aging, Church Women United and Passavant Area Hospital.

The agency is looking for new volunteers since a majority of their current volunteers are seniors. Volunteer qualifications:

·  Available weekdays, 11:30 a.m.­­-1:30 p.m.
·  Own vehicle with GPS access on car or personal mobile device
·  Complete a safety screening
·  Under age 65 and in good health with no compromised immune system, diabetes, COPD or congestive heart failure

Meal recipients have been screened for COVID-19.
