Michael Kos, FACHE, CHFP

Vice President, Revenue Cycle

Michael Kos serves as vice president of revenue cycle for Memorial Health. He provides leadership for the organization’s revenue cycle areas, including patient access, utilization review, clinical documentation improvement, managed care, strategic (third party) reimbursement, facility/professional billing and revenue integrity. He also provides operational support and assistance to Memorial Health Partners, Memorial Health’s clinical integrated network, and the continued development of population health products and services.

Kos began his career at Memorial Health  in 2012 and previously served as system director of Managed Care and Payor Relations. He holds two bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University, a master of public administration degree from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs and a master of science degree in accounting from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green belt.

He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP). Kos also services as a voting board member on the local McMahon-Illini Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Kos also serves on the National Association of Healthcare Revenue Integrity Leadership Council and represents the health system on various financial committees through the Illinois Health and Hospital Association. At the community level, he also currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for M.E.R.C.Y. Communities and a member of the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln’s audit committee.
